The perfect candidate is a team player and self-starter with strong journalistic skills. Our newscasts are fast paced. We are looking for a producer who can think on their feet and loves breaking news. If you just âstackâ the news, this is not the job for you. We want someone on the team who is willing to craft great newscasts, be creative with graphics and learn on the job. In addition to line producing, the qualified candidate will also write and post stories on our numerous platforms.
Qualifications:
- At least two years of line production at a commercial television station is required.
- ENPS knowledge is a plus.
- Strong writing skills are critical.
- Clear understanding of best practices for web-based news writing and distribution.
- Ability to respond quickly and appropriately to breaking news events.
- Must have the ability to make quick decisions.
Additional requirements:
- A pre-employment background check is required.
- Good driving record. Must possess or be able to obtain an Arizona driverâs license.

This is a part-time, paid news intern for training in all aspects of daily TV newscast production. The ideal candidate possesses a strong desire to learn in a creative environment. The position gives first-hand experience of producing, shooting and editing video, reporting, interviewing sources, researching information, writing scripts, and building digital stories. The goal is to fully prepare you for your first professional position in the TV news industry.
Job Duties Include (but not limited to):
- Developing story ideas around local news and events
- Researching and gathering information
- Writing news content for TV and digital platforms
- Producing videos and graphics for digital platforms
- Shooting and editing video
Qualifications:
This position is designed to build on journalism knowledge. Applicants should have completed at least basic college coursework in journalism and/or a related major or have equivalent professional experience.
Note: Applicants must complete a background check to be considered for an internship.
