Mission

Robins Air Force Base is home to 54 mission partners, covering five major commands and three wings. It is the largest single-site industrial complex in Georgia, employing a workforce of almost 22,000 civilians, contractors and military members. http://www.robins.af.mil/About-Us/

Major units includes the 78th Air Base Wing which is the host organization of Robins AFB and is responsible for every service associated with a large base to include facility operations, public affairs, force protection, medical, communications, emergency and environmental management, legal, moral and welfare, airfield operations, personnel and logistics and support functions.

Other major unitsare:

  • Headquarters Air Force Reserve Command manages Reserve forces that are involved in every mission of the Active Component, from communications and services to space and flight testing and mobility operations.
  • Warner Robins Air Logistics Complex performs depot-level maintenance and repairs on a wide variety of Air Force equipment and weapons systems.
  • The 18th ACCS activation is one of four new missions coming to Robins that align better with the future Air Force design to prepare for near-peer threats.
  • The 728th BMCS will provide command and control of aircraft in U.S. Central Command by performing 24/7 real-time radar surveillance along with airspace deconfliction, air-refueling positioning and tactical reconnaissance.
  • The 5th Combat Communications Group provides rapidly deployable communications capabilities in permissive and non-permissive contingency environments across the globe.
  • The 638th Supply Chain Management Center provides life cycle sustainment support for aircraft structural, communications, armament and electronic commodities.
  • Defense Logistics Agency activities include DLA Aviation which provides logistical support to theWR-ALC.DLA oversees a major warehousing operations that serves on-base and worldwide customers; DLA Disposition Services has regional responsibilities for demilitarization, hazard waste disposal, precious metal recovery and reuse or disposition of military items; and DLA Document Services provides reprographic, design and digitization services.
  • AF Life Cycle Management Center provides cradle-to-grave oversight of a wide range of weapons systems, equipment, vehicles and capabilities.

Special and Critical Installation Information

Telephone Access

All telephones at Robins AFB have 222, 926, 327, or 201 prefixes.When calling onto the base from an off-base phone, dial the desired prefix, then the four-digit number.The area code is 478. To call from one on-base phone to the other, callers must dial a seven-digit number using the DSN prefix.For example, commercial numbers starting with 926 will be reached by dialing 468 and then the last four. DSN prefixes are as follows: DSN 201= 241 commercial,DSN 468= 926 commercial, DSN 472= 222 commercial, and DSN 497= 327 commercial.

    School Registration Procedures

    All new students enroll for school at the Central Registration office. At this one-stop-shop, parents register their child(ren) and obtain information on the services offered whether the student is regular education, gifted and talented or special needs. They will also be provided information on transportation regarding the bus stops, bus number and schedule. Parents are encouraged to complete the online registration prior to visiting the central registration office, with all required documentation. These forms and a list of required items may be found on the Houston County School District's link at www.hcbe.net/centralregistration.The website also has other pertinent information such as answers to anticipated questions.     The following items are required for registration:

  • Parent/Guardian Photo ID
  • Certified Birth Certificate
  • Guardianship/Custody Orders if the child does not live with his natural parents
  • Two Proofs of Residency- Lease or Mortgage plus one of the following:
    • Utility bill or Service Cut-On Order(electric, water or cable bill)
    • Property tax statement or income tax statement
    • Automobile registration or insurance
    • Mail from any government agency
  • Social Security Card
  • GA Form 3300 - Ear, Eye, and Dental Screening must be signed by a provider in Georgia ( military families have 30 days from registration to complete and turn in this form)
  • GA Form 3231 - Georgia Immunization Certificate must be signed by a provider in Georgia (military families have 30 days from registration to complete and turn in this form, however, district requests some proof of immunizations at initial registration appointment)
  • School Records and Last Report Card, if transferring from another school system

    School Zoning

    The Houston County Board of Education does not offer school of choice. Board policy requires that students attend school in the zone in which they reside. School choice is not an option except in unique circ*mstances. One of these exceptions is a House Bill 224 (HB 224) transfer for military families who live on an installation.

    The 2017, Georgia General Assembly approved HB 224 giving a school aged child of a military service member living on a military base the option to request any school within the school system based on space availability.     Students residing in the Temporary Lodging Facility (TLF) will attend the following Houston County public schools:

  • Grades Pre-K through 2: CB Watson Primary School
  • Grades 3 through 5: Pearl Stephens Elementary School
  • Grades 6 through 8: HuntingtonMiddle School
  • Grades 9 through 12: Warner Robins High School.

    Age Requirements

    Any child shall be eligible for admission to kindergarten if he or she has attained the age of five (5) years old on or before September 1 of the school year.

    Georgia also provides a public Pre-Kindergarten Program for students who are four (4) years old on or before September 1 of the school year. There are a limited number of slots in the Georgia Pre-K program and many school districts hold a computer generated lottery to select which students receive a slot. In addition to the public schools offering the Georgia Pre-K, many local private learning centers and daycares also offer the same state funded Pre-K program in their centers. School Transportation Services

The Transportation Department provides over 15,000 students with daily bus service to 38 schools. The department's mission is to deliver students to and from school in a safe and efficient manner so that they are ready to learn each day. The 203 drivers and 59 monitors cover 175 routes. On average, each driver completes two routes twice a day. The fleet contains 257 buses.

Bus service for students attending their home schools is provided from bus stops at specific locations.Any student may walk to the stop closest to his or her home.Bus service for students attending special education classes outside their home schools will be provided by the Board of Education as noted on the student's Individual Education Plan.Bus stops are assigned by the nearest practical route if the distance to the school is one and one-half miles or more. Stops are designated by the Transportation Department and based on distance to the next stop and safety of the location for pickup.Bus routes and school zones are located at www.hcbe.net/transportation.
